The Enterprise System Vice President, Enterprise Resilience leads the organization’s efforts to build and sustain an enterprise-wide culture of resiliency. This leader is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, frameworks, and practices to ensure continuity of operations, proactive risk mitigation, and rapid recovery in response to disruptions. The role requires close collaboration with senior leaders across business units, clinical operations, and IT, with a focus on safeguarding organizational sustainability and patient care excellence.


Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and implement a comprehensive Enterprise Resilience strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
  • Establish enterprise priorities for risk mitigation, business continuity planning, and crisis management.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for Enterprise Resilience initiatives, embedding resilience into organizational culture and business processes.

Crisis Management:

  • Lead organizational response during crises, providing decisive leadership to ensure business continuity and clear communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

       Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) plans across all departments, ensuring operational readiness and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Lead business impact analyses (BIA) to identify critical functions, dependencies, and risks, driving the prioritization of resiliency investments.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, finance, clinical, IT, and other key business functions to ensure continuity of critical operations, including patient care, logistics, and financial processes during disruptions.

Governance and Risk Management:

  • Develop and lead an enterprise-wide governance framework for Enterprise Resilience, ensuring consistency in policies, practices, and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, HIPAA) and enterprise risk management protocols.
  • Regularly report on resiliency metrics, risks, and mitigation strategies to the COO, executive leadership, and the board of directors.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with business leaders, clinical teams, and IT to integrate resiliency strategies into operations.
  • Serve as a key organizational liaison with external partners, including regulatory agencies, insurers, and vendors, on resiliency and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Establish and chair an Enterprise Resilience Steering Committee to drive cross-functional alignment and accountability.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Business continuity plan (BCP) adoption rates across departments.
  • Reduction in operational downtime during disruptions.
  • Frequency and effectiveness of resiliency training and simulations.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with resiliency program implementation and incident response.
  • Risk exposure reduction through proactive mitigation efforts.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role with travel as needed to conduct site assessments, support department-level resiliency planning, and lead enterprise-wide initiatives.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business operations, risk management, or crisis management, ideally in healthcare or a similarly regulated industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP)
  • Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP)

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training:

  • Expertise in business continuity, operational risk management, and crisis response frameworks.
  • Strong business acumen with an in-depth understanding of healthcare operations, financial processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change in a complex environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using enterprise tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Tableau, or similar platforms) for risk analysis and planning.
