Responsibilities

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a primary informatics strategic Nursing leader, guiding system-level leadership on governance, technology adoption, and optimization of the end-user experience with our diverse electronic health record (EHR) systems. This is a Remote position.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide expert consultation to organizational and ambulatory clinic leaders on clinical system strategy and optimization, ensuring nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary care providers can leverage informatics clinical systems effectively.
  • System-Wide Impact: Develop and implement system strategies for hospitals, clinics, and the organization, overseeing the System Clinical Informatics team to advance the utilization of clinical information systems in alignment with clinical and strategic initiatives.
  • Program Success: Drive maximal project and program implementation success across all informatics systems, leading large projects such as EPIC Gold, virtual support, and web based education projects.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Work in collaboration with the System SVP, Chief Nursing Transformation/Clinical Nursing Informatics Officer, to support the implementation of CommonSpirit Health's comprehensive Clinical Informatics program.
  • Dyad Collaboration: Partner with the National System VP, Medical Informatics, and align with Regional CMIOs on informatic design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing industry enhancements for the EHR.
  • Improve Healthcare: Lead a primary focus of information technology to improve the access and quality of healthcare delivered to individuals, families, and communities.

Qualifications
  • Education:
    • MSN or MHA required.
    • Doctorate in Nursing or other Clinical field highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of related healthcare experience.
    • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in a system role within complex, highly matrixed organizations.
    • Strong track record of positive outcomes in system leadership and project management for large national teams.
    • Extensive experience in Clinical Informatics & multiple EMR applications.
    • Demonstrated success in providing effective solutions that resolve complex challenges for large healthcare clinical informatic system issues.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of Epic and Cerner HOS systems and architecture. Demonstrates an early adopter skill set to achieve the required workflow by the end user.
    • Financially astute; independently capable of developing and maintaining ROI projections for projects.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; skilled facilitator in virtual meetings and teams.
    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards, CMS, and Joint Commission requirements.
    • Demonstrated national presence in Healthcare Informatics forums. Willing and capable of publishing best practices as noted in CSH pilots or future innovations.
  • Required Licensure and Certifications:
    • RN Compact license.
    • Certification in 1 or more HOS systems.
    • AACN and/or other IT certification in Informatics mandatory.
